A Story That Began With Family
BuildATombstone.com grew out of something deeply personal: the memorials created to honor my sister, Tracy Jane Sell, and my brother, Eric Michael Sell.
When I think about their monuments, I see more than polished granite. I see the photographs, the words and the details that reflect the people they were. Their memorials remind me how important it is for families to have the freedom to create something personal, thoughtful and lasting.

Their Lives, Remembered
My sister and brother were both 51 when we lost them. Their years were far more than dates on a monument; they were lives filled with love and memories that remain with our family.

Why This Website Exists
Choosing a tombstone can mean learning an unfamiliar process while carrying the weight of a loss. I wanted to make it easier to see what is possible: monument shapes, granite colors, portrait engraving, lettering, meaningful inscriptions and personal artwork.
Here, families can explore real monument photographs, consider their options and take the first steps toward requesting a memorial of their own. My hope is that every family feels informed, respected and able to make decisions that reflect the person they love.
We’re with you every step of the way.
